Welcome!

We are the Statistics Graduate Student Association (SGSA) at UBC.

We created this website for new, current, and prospective graduate students in the Department of Statistics. Here, you can find information about the various activities and events that statistics graduate students organize—all in a single place!

We also aim to create a sense of community in the department and to make it as easy as possible for everyone to get involved. Enjoy!

SGSA on hold

After two years of hard work, the SGSA executive committee—Gian Carlo, Kenny, and Nikola—is retiring in August 2024. We are currently looking for replacements to our positions, but if no one volunteers then SGSA will be on indefinite hold starting in September 2024.

If you want to be graduate representative, please contact Gian Carlo ASAP. It is a very rewarding position and we would love to help to ensure a smooth transition.
